The Flowing – Album Launch

December 4, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The Flowing Set Sail With New Album Release | NOW SOLD OUT

Medway favourites The Flowing are poised to launch their new album, Talk About Wonder, on the striking historic ship LV21 on 4th December 2015.

Over a year in the making, Talk About Wonder will be The Flowing’s first full studio recorded album and it’s set to be an exciting addition to the burgeoning Medway folk scene. Many of their songs tell tales of odyssey-like journeys or adventures at sea, so what better venue to celebrate the album’s launch than on the Gillingham moored historic lightship and recent winner of Best Heritage Project at the Medway Culture and Design Awards? The Flowing’s Hannah Ellerby says “We’re ecstatic to play on the LV21; it’s such an iconic ship. We love the atmosphere on board, and are so excited to launch the album there”.

The Flowing’s sound is a mixed up combination of traditional and contemporary folk, blues and Americana. With layers of harmonies created by voices, strings and horn together with honest, frank lyrics the album is sure to be a compelling listen.

The artwork, created especially for the album by local artist and musician Lupen Crook, will be exclusively exhibited on-board throughout the evening. Dave Pickett, frontman of The Flowing, explains; “We have admired Lupen Crook’s work and music for some time, so we’re honoured that he has offered to do the artwork for the album. We can’t wait for our fans and new listeners to see it as well as hear it!”

Recently featured in Stephen H Morris’ history of music in Medway, Do it Yourself, The Flowing are a well-seasoned live act and have been on the local music scene for some time. This, their first studio album launch, will see them perform an eclectic mix of songs, old and new, featuring solo, duet and full band performances.

Join the band on 4th December, doors at 7pm and music at 8pm. Licensed bar on-board. Tickets are available online at , and a special discounted price is available for those pre-ordering the album with their ticket.
