Light Vessel 21 Films

We’ll be adding to our video library regularly and are looking forward to producing a range of films that will document LV21’s development into a floating cultural facility and some of the projects that we devise and deliver.

Aerial Promo

Our friends at Mad Props dropped by to test out their latest aerial rig set up. Here’s a view of LV21 like you’ve never seen her before. Even though it was pretty windy (they’re still waiting for the new camera stabiliser) we think they did a great job.

Go visit them and watch some more awesome aerial footage from their portfolio.

Iron Gym

Iron Gym is a University of Kent led participatory public art project combining heritage sites and artefacts with sporting activities. The project aims to connect past with present while interpreting cultural heritage in a novel manner.

The longer term project seeks to explore interdisciplinary, community-located creative practice through focusing on the development of a series of design and sculptural installations in the form of an exercise trail linking the Universities at Medway campus with heritage sites and the local community in Medway. LV21 was the initial heritage site chosen for the both the development and launch event of the project.

The Seaside Sisters Get Crafty Onboard LV21

The queens of coastal themed craft took up a week’s residency on board LV21 with a vintage seaside inspired souvenir shop and drop in workshops.

The Seaside Sisters made the most of LV21′s fascinating space with seaside themed sets, exhibiting their work with theatrical waves, a floral clock and Punch and Judy inspired displays. There were lots of activities and craft workshops for children and adults to join. Nick Brown of the rare vinyl record shop Intoxica treated us to a surf and nautical themed DJ set. And the enchanting mermaid aka soprano Sophia Brumfitt lured visitors deep into the ship with her beautiful voice.

Focal Point | A Collaboration Between LV21, Scarabeus & The World Famous

Focal Point was a spectacular performance of aerial daredevilry and pyrotechnic explosions on board LV21, the finale of the FUSE Medway Festival.

A unique commission by FUSE, the finale performance was a collaborative project bringing together LV21, Scarabeus Theatre, exponents of multi-disciplinary aerial performance , and creative pyrotechnicians The World Famous. Needless to say, the festival went out with quite a bang!
