In this relaxed session led by contemporary jewellery artist Margo Orlovik you will engage in a series of activities to explore you own individual inspirations for creative expression.

How to source ideas from the world around us? Why be creative? How to tell your story through creative work? The activities will help you explore and develop your personal narrative and individual style for your creative work.

Please bring one 'meaningful object' (of importance to you at this time) which you will be happy to talk about briefly and work with in the session; it can be a photograph of a special person or place, your most treasured bead, a dry leaf, or a piece of text...

This is a beginner-friendly, jewellery non-specific workshop but we will talk about what art jewellery can be and the participants will be working in a variety of paper based media towards designing a personal piece of jewellery. At the end of the workshop you will have a collection of exploratory exercises and samples and a selection of works on paper. You should also have a selection of fresh ideas and better understanding of your individual creative practice.

Margo will also give a short introduction to her background and practice as part of the workshop.

Suitable for 16+. No previous experience required. All materials and tools provided (just bring the 'meaningful object'!).

Tea, coffee, juice, water, biscuits and snacks provided. Please bring your own lunch if you like.
