LV21's directors have worked in the creative sector for the past 25 years gaining extensive knowledge of the local market and expertise in managing large scale cultural projects. As creative practitioners based in Kent both directors are passionate about supporting and contributing to the cultural sector development in the area.
Captain Finland
Päivi Seppälä | Director
Päivi is an artist and a creative producer specialising in community participatory cultural projects that affect positive social change. She has developed a number of creative education programmes and project managed a range of high profile public art projects and festivals for private and public sector, both nationally and internationally. Through her art practice Poppana, Päivi has provided curatorial and consultancy services and delivered artistic commissions for a variety of clients including Crafts Council, Arts Council England, Royal Opera House Bridge, Creative Partnerships, CCE Creativity Culture & Education, Nalgao, Design Forum Finland, Nokia, Finnish Institute, Medway Swale Estuary Partnership, North Downs AONB, Kent County Council and local authorities across Kent and Medway.
Päivi supports the strategic creative sector development in Kent through peer mentoring services and as an arts and culture representative on multiple advisory boards and steering groups.
The Skipper
Gary Weston | Director
Gary is an independent filmmaker, photographer, designer and multimedia content producer. Through his Kent based video production company Spaghetti Weston, he has produced films and digital content for the BBC, UKTV, NHS, Amazon Web Services, Barclays, Design Museum, Royal Opera House, National Express, Network Rail as well as public sector clients including KCC, Medway Council, Screen South, Creativity Culture & Education and Arts Council England. He has also produced film promotions for a number of charities including Barnardos, the Kent Autistic Trust and mcch.
Gary is a qualified lecturer and has delivered training and film making courses for the BBC, Prince's Trust Fairbridge and the Media Trust.
He has also designed and built over 100 websites with clients ranging from individual artists and makers to arts organisations, museums, conservation charities and regional venues.

TANTAN & FINN
By far the most popular crew members with their own growing Instagram following are Tantan and Finn, LV21's watch dogs and stealers of hearts.
Tantan and Finn are rescue whippets and can usually be found chasing pigeons off the fo'c'sle or snoozing below deck.
LV21 ShipMates
To emphasise LV21’s strong community remit and the development of community-based cultural and heritage activity, LV21 ShipMates, a not-for profit arm has been established. Members of LV21 ShipMates Steering Group represent a diverse group of dedicated individuals with extensive personal and professional experience in the creative arts, non-profit arts organisation management, business and financial management, secondary and higher education, maritime industry, tourism, heritage and voluntary organisations.
LV21 collaborates and works in partnership with diverse creative sector practitioners, groups, organisations, agencies, foundations and other relevant representatives, both professional and voluntary and develop productive business relationships with the various education sectors in the area to deliver innovative cultural projects that affect positive social change.
