WHOOP Heritage Festival
The Hoo Peninsula is a unique landscape with a rich natural, historical, and cultural heritage.
It has an exceptional environment and wildlife habitats combined with a peninsular heritage of coastal fortifications and marshland sites, and inland prehistoric and medieval sites with wide views over the sea.
WHOOP Heritage Festival celebrates this local heritage and brings together inspiring stories, people and places from across the area.
Launched in May 2025, the annual community festival produced by LV21 in collaboration with local partners and volunteers is accompanied by a supporting programme of community participatory satellite events, commissioning callouts and volunteering opportunities throughout the calendar year.
WHOOP Heritage Festival activity is part of the wider Whose Hoo partnership project. The project is designed to connect people of all ages, backgrounds and interests with the area’s rich natural and cultural heritage while working alongside local communities to leave a lasting legacy that continues to protect and celebrate this irreplaceable landscape beyond the 4-year project period funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
