ST ANDREW’S 150
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the former St Andrew’s Mission Church at Bawley Bay in Gravesend, LV21 in partnership with Gravesham Borough Council is hosting a series of artist led creative events and workshops at the St Andrew’s Arts Centre, aboard the historic lightship LV21 and on the surrounding quayside.

Exhibition featuring artworks inspired by the people, places and stories of the St Andrew’s Waterfront including:
Linda Simon
Textile flags referencing the semiotic language of International Code of Signals used by seafarers on the Thames.
Rosie James
Stitched, collaged drawings on old sails, inspired by vintage photographs of local Bawley Bay shrimpers.
Shrimpers & Mudlarks | Nicola Flower & Daisy Farris
Costumes created by artist Nicola Flower for a collaborative performance with dancer, choreographer Daisy Farris, including a cape encrusted with shrimp embroideries which were made by local volunteer makers and community groups.
These artworks were originally created for the SILTings arts festival in June 2021. Further details about the project available at LV21.co.uk/projects/siltings/

As a historic ship access aboard LV21 is limited with main entry via a gangway and a steep staircase. Please wear flat, non-slip shoes when visiting. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
